Annual Council Banquet
Event Details
This event represents a wonderful opportunity for the Council and the community as a whole to recognize the accomplishments of our midlands 2016 Eagle Scout "Don Gibson" Class, who has helped thousands of Scouts along the Eagle Trail. For more than 30 years Don has been the Scoutmaster of Troop 202 - one of our council's largest - chartered to Spring Valley Presbyterian Church in Columbia. So far in his tenure, nearly 200 young men in that troop has achieved Scouting' highest honor and countless more have been positively influenced by his leadership.
The council will also present a very special recognition to Mr. Francis Herndon for seventy-five years as a member of our organization!
The 2017 Silver Beaver Award will also be presented that evening to three deserving honorees:
Joe Boyle of West Columbia, Smitty Harrison of Columbia and Bev Kubik of Little Mountain. This award is the highest honor the Council can bestow upon a volunteer leader. Additionally, the leadership of all the various council activities in 2016 will be recognized.
