The ScoutStrong Virtual 5k is an exciting event where Scouts and volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual 5k run or walk to encourage being Physically Strong! Participants may run or walk near their own residences on a course of similar length. They may complete the 5k or 1 mile walk/run at any time beginning Friday, July 3 and ending Sunday, July 5, or on the alternate weekend of July 11-12.  In addition, digital video content of a real 5k from D-bar-A’s Pedro Trail can be viewed as inspirational content for participants. Once complete, they may then upload their completion and time (optional) to a social media platform with the hashtag #ScoutStrong and tag the Michigan Crossroads Council. 

All participants who register and complete the event will receive a ScoutStrong Virtual 5k patch by mail following the event. In addition, adult participants will be given the option to crowdfund on via text, email, and social media towards a small suggested goal of $120 (or a goal of their choosing) among their friends, family, and colleagues. Those that attain their peer-based crowdfunding goal, hosted securely with our partner at MobileCause, will also receive a commemorative patch for themselves and any of their own participating children.
