WILDERNESS SURVIVAL OUTPOST & ADVANCED RESCUE

Can you survive in the wilderness? How about with an injury? What about the bitter cold or harsh heat of the environment? Do you have what it takes to perform search and rescue operations for a lost hiker? Would you "BE PREPARED" if called upon during your next emergency? Are you a good steward of the environment and practice "Leave No Trace". These are just some of the skills you will learn at this new opportunity at Camp La-No-Che!

UNIT REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN:

Unit reservations are open until August 1st for a $55 non-refundable deposit. This allows your unit to finalize  numbers, and collect all neccessary funds for you trip from now to Aug. 1st. On Aug. 1st individual Scout/Adult registration opens per participant, once each individual fee is paid, they can then select their chosen program discipline and begin preparation. Only one piece of information is needed, to complete your campsite reservation.

  • Approximately how many youth/adults will be attending? (this is your best estimation of attendance)

DATE/TIME:

  • September 13-15th, 2024
  • Check-in occurs 5-8PM on Friday, September 13th
  • Welcome session held at 8:30PM on Friday, September 13th
  • Experience begins at 8:30AM on Saturday, September 13th (course will have an overnight component)
  • Experience concludes at 10:00AM on Sunday, September 15th

YOUTH PROGRAM DETAILS:

Scouts throughout the weekend will engage in experiences centered around Wilderness Survival, Search & Rescue, and Emergency Preparedness. Instructors from multiple disciplines will be incorporated into this weekend experience for Scouts to learn from in classroom, outdoor, and scenario activities. This program will feature 3 tracks where multiple topics will be presented including:

  • Level I Program: Wilderness Survival Merit Badge (see suggested pre-reqs for course completion)
  • Level II Program: Search and Rescue Merit Badge (see suggested pre-reqs for course completion)
  • Level II Program: Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge (see pre-reqs for course completion)

ADULT PROGRAM DETAILS:

Adult Leaders can participate alongsider their Scout throughout the whole weekend, and also complete a seminar designed specifically for them.

  • Leave No Trace: Awareness Workshop (Adult Program)

COST:

  • Youth: $45
  • Adult:  $37
  • Provisional (Individual Scouts/No 2-deep leadership): $55

WEEKEND DINING OPTIONS:

  • Camp Meal Plan: $44 per person- 4 Meals: Saturday (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner), Sunday (Breakfast)
  • Unit Cooking 

* Depending on Level I or Level II Program Selection some meals may need to be prepared in a primitive environment. Please consult the Program Guide for the best information.

REFUNDS:
All deposits paid, either for campsite or participant are non-refundable deposits. To request a refund of other monies paid, you must submit a refund request form and meet the criteria listed in order to receive a potential refund. HEALTH & SAFETY:

The health and safety of our Scouting family will always be our top priority and Camp La-No-Che is prepared to provide a safe, fun environment for your Scouts. Our team has worked with multiple Council Committees to provide guidelines aimed at keeping everyone in attendance safe and healthy. Please be sure to review the Leader  Guide for additional information. All Scouts/Leaders must have a BSA Medical Form Part A & B brought with them in order to participate.
